New Bookswap Policies

No Sets:As the Bookswap inventory grows, it is becoming increasingly difficult to keep track of books which sellers wish to be sold together as a set. As a result, students will no longer be able to bundle their books: all items must be sold invidually.

The Bookswap is undertaking a few new initiatives in an attempt to remove old, out-of-date textbooks from our inventory. This will allow us to free up shelf space for the newest editions, while leaving you secure with the knowledge that the textbooks we have are the most current ones. Additional information about these policies can be found below:

Owners of old textbooks: We are trying to identify all textbooks no longer used at Case, either because a new edition has been released, or a new text has been selected. If you own such a book, you will receive an e-mail asking you (or a representative) to reclaim or donate your textbook. Please respond via e-mail to ensure that we have a written record. If we do not receive a response after two semesters, we will reclaim the textbook in accordance with the Seller’s Agreement.

Students no longer at Case: All graduates will receive an e-mail asking us what we should do with your books: you may keep them with us an additional semester, you (or a representative) may pick them up, or you may donate them to us. Please respond via e-mail so that we may have a written record. If we do not receive a response after two semesters, we will reclaim the textbook in accordance with the Seller’s Agreement.

Payouts: We are also making an attempt to contact all alumni to whom we owe money. Alumni with outstanding balances with us will receive an e-mail asking them to submit a payment request. If you receive such an e-mail, please submit the request promptly. If we do not receive a response after two semesters, we will claim the money in accordance with the Seller’s Agreement.

Textbook Restrictions: We are no longer accepting the following textbooks because they are out-of date (old editions or no longer used).
